CNN host calls play about Trump’s murder a “masterpiece”

Following his attendance at a production of Julius Caesar—which depicts the assassination of President Trump—in New York’s Central Park, CNN host Fareed Zakaria praised the production, calling it a “masterpiece.”

“If you’re in NYC, go see Julius Caesar, free in Central Park,” Zakaria tweeted nearly two weeks ago, “brilliantly interpreted for Trump era. A masterpiece”

A report last week from The Daily Wire revealed that Zakaria’s employer, Time-Warner, parent company of CNN, is one of the sponsors of Julius Caesar.

After reports emerged about the play’s depiction of Trump’s assassination, two high-profile sponsors have withdrawn their sponsorship—Delta Airlines and Bank of America. To date, however, most sponsors continue to support the production, including American Express and New York Magazine, as well as Time-Warner.

After placing second in the cable news ratings for two years, CNN fell into last place in May behind MSNBC. The network has recently been pressured into terminating associates Kathy Griffin for publishing pictures of herself holding what appeared to be the bloody, severed head of President Trump, and Reza Aslan for calling the president a “piece of sh*t.”
