Facebook Goes On Massive Blocking Spree Of Catholic Pages

Facebook has blocked more than two dozen conservative Catholic pages in the last 24 hours, according to a Catholic News Agency (CNA) report.

The only explanation the social media behemoth gave for the pages being blocked was that they were “suspected of suspicious activity.”

U.S. Catholic priest Fr. Francis J. Hoffman has a page that was blocked, “Fr. Rocky,” with an impressive 3.5 million ‘likes.’ Kenneth Alimba, of Nigeria, who runs the now-blocked page “Catholic and Proud,” says Facebook gave him no explanation for its actions. His page had been doing well, reaching 6 million ‘likes’ after 5 years of hard work.

“It’s extremely heartbreaking,” Alimba told CNA. “It’s too horrible.” He believes his page may be getting censored and notes Facebook has been against Catholic and conservative causes for a while.
